Maybe your consciousness exists on after you've died and some people have experienced this and have taken to be heaven. And if this was the case I suppose it would be. In that case it would be different for each individual. Furthermore, maybe when you die you actually judge yourself and on that basis go to your heaven or your own personal hell. Hey, it's a theory. What do you think of that if you're back angeldraws.
Thank you Naomi, Luna-tic and Styley for your kind words of comfort. It meant a lot. xxx
May I add my condolences and offer my sympathy to you, at the loss of your father.
As to your question, I believe the bible, that God will welcome us into His presence for eternity, and we will know a joy that at present we simply cannot begin to fathom.
Hi - styley - interesting but i'm not sure about that one either....i mean, IF the majority - or even 50% - of people who had ever died, EVER (assuming the other 50% went to hell - just to pick a random number.....) - where would they all be??? How would they all fit? Why would this 'Heaven' be big enough? Or hell for that matter.....? Just what would be the point.......? And - what IS your consciousness? Is it your soul? Would'nt they all be so squashed up they'd merge together anyway......? Any thoughts on this..?
Well... suspension of disbelief and all that...

I hope it involves George Clooney, Bill Hicks, the bloke that plays Sean Slater and a bottle of tequilla.

I would associate consciousness in terms of the mind, without the body. How many minds could you fit into a room, remembering they are without the body?
-- answer removed --
angel, I don't believe in heaven or hell, but the concept of either can't be limited to area as we know it. We're talking about eternity here. Space wouldn't be an issue.

styley, if by consciousness, you mean the soul, don't you think the soul would encompass more than just the mind? Wouldn't it incorporate feelings and emotions too? In fact a person's whole being - minus, of course, his body.

China, sorry, George is already spoken for. I invited him to one our Loonie parties ages ago, so forget it, he's with me! How about Brad Pitt? Any good?
That big girls blouse?? I'd rather have Angelina than him!
China, not my idea of heaven, but if you must, then on R&S you only have to ask and it shall be given!
Well, i dunno wot to say about that.......we'll never know till that time comes i guess. I wish i did believe in it all then i would know i would see my dear old grandad again

However, i will say this:-

You two will only get a look in now that I've chucked George out......! He's not all he's cracked up to be..... ;o.

Yeah I was equating mind with soul I suppose, but my point was that you could fit as many as you want into a very tiny space, so you don't have to worry about having enough room for all the do gooders who make it to the place.
