Does anyone know of a good beginner's guide to dressmaking? I want something really, really basic that assumes no prior knowledge.

Hi Hermia, I've heard that the 'For Dummies' books are easy to understand and user friendly. There is a 'Sewing for Dummies' that comes on paperback.
