Any good ripping ghost stories anyone can recommend. I've read Oliver Onions, M R James and a few Sheridan Le Fanu. Any other really good ones?

For me, M R James is the master of ghost story writers. But I've also enjoyed the ghost stories of Marjorie Bowen and Edith Wharton. They tell some very creepy tales. Wilkie Collins wrote some good ones too.

Cheers for tip. I'd completely forgotten that Edith Wharton had written a few spine-chillers.

Thomas Hardy wrote quite a few and I believe they are in his 'Wessex Tales' book
