Hey this may be the silliest question ever but I was wondering can you empty the contents of a cat litter tray into a compost bin? Would it all rot down or is it different? Was just wondering really as i heard you're not supposed to put it in the bin!
Thanks in advance :)

Course you could put it in, but it wouldn't compost down - it's treated clay.

Thanks for that was wondering if it would rot down or not! Didnt realise that the litter way treated clay though!!!
Depends what sort you use, I use the clay based stuff because its cheap from lidls! But I think some brands appear to be made from cardboard type pellets, so maybe that would compostable?
I rang my council about this they said no, only waste from herbivores i.e guine pigs, rabbits can go in the green bins used for compost
