Did you see/hear about the very old couple who are getting married after only meeting a short while ago. They are to become the countries oldest newlyweds.
It has got the attention of the media who will be attending.

Do you think that the likes of Hello & co should turn up & do their bit on what is a genuine last fling of happiness, rather than a tacky, obscene & shallow celebrity bash?

Good luck to them both and I hope they live long enough to enjoy there happiness.
I would much prefer to read a story like that and know that the ridiculous sum paid will be used on them and their families as opposed to famous people who have plenty already!

My granddad is in a similar situation, he is 78 and his wife of 40 years died two years ago (she was 84). Since her death he met a lady who lost her husband around the same time, and so they started going out for drinks together and the occassional meal just for a bit of company. Now, they have been "together" for about a year He now lives with his daughter and although she lives on her own her family do not think she should be out cavorting. I think it is wonderful though.

He goes for a coffee and his single daily cigarette in the morning, then picks her up around ten and they take a drive to the coast or somewhere, then he drops her home in the afternoon and they meet up again in the evening to go out for dinner. I only hope that I will have someone to spend my time with so wonderfully when I am that age X
You mean 'the country's oldest newlyweds'.
nobody is ever too old to need somebody to share their life with
I dont buy Hello or any of hte celebrity gossip magazines so I dont really care. I would be far more likely to read about it in a paper. Im sure some of the press will be providing some little luxuries for them.

Yes, Lucy that small grammatical error made the whole post illegible, I may not have been able to understand the entire post, had you not pointed it out.
Loved it when the old boy said "She's marrying me for my body and I'm marrying her for her money" Superb! I wish them every happiness!
I like the combination 'OLDest NEWly'.
oops, forgot the 'weds'!
