I am flying into London from New York on the 3rd of November. I have to get to York the next day but my plane arrives late. What would be the easiest and/or cheapest mode of travel to get to York?

check out national express coach from london victoria coach station
Cheapest would be by coach. Log on to www.nationalexpress.com and that will give you timetable and prices. All london Airports will have access to the city either by tube or coach to all the main stations.
Another quicker option is by train but maybe more expensive. London King's Cross station to York. Log on to www.qjump.com

Most comfortable way is by train from Kings Cross (which is easy from Heathrow on the Picadilly line or Gatwick on Thameslink) ... last direct train is 22:00.

Book tickets from www.thetrainline.com .. as low as 18 if you book early - nearer 70 if you leave it till the day ... you can pick up pre-booked tickets at the station from special machines
