...but it's puzzling me. We have some old family correspondence posted to Wales and part of the address is the initials NSD. Web searches on NSD Welsh address draw a blank. Does anyone out there know what NSD stands for in this context? Grateful for your help Terryb

The only thing I know is no smoking day but I can't think why this is in the address. Can you give a bit more help with the address.

oops! Sorry, it's actually RSD. We have lots of examples from various bits of Wales, one such is "house name", Peniel Green, Llansamlet, RSD.

Oh, and it's from 1914.
Residence?
Theres a thing called a Rural District, RD formerly Rural Sanitary District, RSD

but I don't know whether people regularly used them as part of their addresses and in any case there's no Llansamlet RSD
Looks like it could be Registration Sub District. Something to do with the census.
