A friend of mine bought these recently. She has found she can only do one side of her head and really struggles with the other.

She is going to persist but says its not as easy as it looks.

They seem to work fine on the side she can do though!
I've got them and i'm not impressed. I have long straight blonde hair and the metal plates don't go through my hair easily. Plus I only end up with a curl at the ends and not at the roots! It's tricky to use. You really need a very patient friend.

Overnight rollers or paying a hairdresser to have your hair 'set' are still the best options for curls I'm afraid to say.
I curl my daughters hair with straightners believe it or not. Clamp the hair at the top and then twist the straighteners round and round as you move them to the end of the hair.
It gives a fab effect - bigish casual curls!!
