scanning old slides - quickly ?

Hi, I am looking for help finding out what is the quickest , easiest and cheapest method of scanning old slides and negatives. My family's photos are all on old slides stored up my dads attic. I am looking to get all these old photos scanned onto my computer but don't know what sort of scanner I should be looking to get. Have looked on e bay and the choice baffles me. can anyone help, please ?

available from www.play.com for �124, but it may not support the size of slides you want to scan.
Hi what I did and worked brilliant was showed my slides as you used to do on a large screen then used my digital camera to take all images again. Managed to get all my slides now on discs.
