I've not been but (because Ryanair has plenty of 0.01 fares on offer at the minute) I've been thinking about it myself and doing a bit of research.

The airport is only 8 km (5 miles) from the city centre. The express Aero-Bus runs every 20 minutes, with a fare of just 2.50 each way. Alternatively, local route 150 will also take you to the city centre, for just 1.05:

The airport is also served by Line 3 and Line % of the city's underground system:

If you'd rather take a taxi, it will cost around 15 to the city centre:

You can find out what the city has to offer by taking a look at Valencia's official tourism website:

Excellent place for a visit.

Historic city centre with cathedral etc. Very modern science park about 15 minutes walk from city centre.

A gem which few British know well

thanks guys!
I went there on business but also wandered round a bit. Lovely with some beautiful fountains. You will enjoy it.
Been a few times and enjoyed every visit, a great mix of old and new, the new is in a area near the sea and not really a taste of spain as you would expect it, but if you have the time then well worth it.
Stay in the centre and look around the old town and it's all walkable, we stopped for a meal and drink near a large church in the Centro and watched 14 weddings take place, one in one out, then photo's by the fountain where we where sitting, must be on loads of them wedding pictures.
The only thing I had a problem with was that nearly all the places we visited they had no English menu so try to learn a bit of Spanish first, enjoy.
