What is the seven letter name,derived from Arabic, of the oil which is made by pressing sesame seeds?
I have an answer, but want it confirmed, please.

Unfortunately I've found 2 - gingili and jinjili per Chambers (Hindi jinjali, prob from Ar juljulan). I hope I haven't confused matters.
I checked Chambers too, but went for Gilgili as it was the first mentioned, and gets more google hits.
Agree it could be either.
I have found both those answers too!

I do Quizmail myself and had queried this re there perhaps being two spellings.

I urge others to ask the folks at Quizmail too..........they may make a comment if enough of us ask.

Yes it is Hindu, but the route word is Arabic...........still two spellings according to Chambers, however!
It's a dialect thing - the same Arabic character is pronounced J in many countries and G in others (most notably Egypt)
