I use a webmail site for emails and receive them all ok accept for ebay emails, they come through all jumbled and really long and drawn out, there is always a long orange box with a single letter or symbol down the left and right hand side then the message is about three words wide and long too, there are never an pictures on an ebay email either. I have set my email preference to HTML format but still doesn't work, any ideas please?

Sounds like they are possibly sending them out in MIME format which some email readers cannot understand.

Try searching for a MIME reader on the net to see if this is the problem.

Thank you squarebear but I am a bit out of touch with emails etc how would I apply a MIME reader to an email? hope this is not too daft a question.
I'm no expert on it but you can get stand alone MIME readers where you cut and paste the wierd text that is your email into it and it translates it for you.

Google is your friend here I'm afraid.
Try this one. I use this at work when I get MIME type emails.

thanks for the link squarebear, I installed the full version then copied and pasted an ebay email into it but got the reply "nothing to decode"
Ah sorry then. It just sounded like it was a MIME email from what you described.
