Everywhere i go people banging on about how bad they are and everytime one immigrant commits a crime they are potrayed as a race of villans? please people have some sense ive made a little list of what i've found out about immigrants without reading the daily mail!
let me allay some fears about migrants in the u.k
FACT the economy received a 4 billion pound boost from all the workers that came over here from abroad
FACT britains age is reaching a dangerously old age (mean) wherein in 50 years there will not be enough workers to care for the old people and the amount of people on pension will collapse our society and therefore we NEED young people from other countries to diversify our population.
FACT as Britains we have one of the best passports in the world and can live in so many countries with no problem a bit hypocritical to deny other people the rights we have?
GUESS most people who bring their families on a round the world trip don't undertake it lightly and mostly do not come here to cause trouble most families want to make a living and feed their kids if anyone has a problem with that i think you have some humanitarian issues and might as well become a nazi!
if you look at the amount of people who commit crime in this country compared to the immigrants the figures don't justify the prejudice.
also dont even get me started on how our NHS is ABSOLUTELY dependant on those immigrants

I have had friends lose their houses because they can get foreign workers who live in council accomodation who are happy to be paid peanuts. my friends cannot afford to pay the mortgage at half the minimum wage...
companies only employ foreign workers because they are cheap, its a form of slave labour, most people cant afford to live at the rates of pay these people work for, I know a company that pays less than half the minimum wage, I suppose you think he is a great guy, he is merely a businessman who doesnt give a monkeys about the health and safety of the workers as long as they keep working for peanuts...

The economy is in trouble not up! You'll find your tax decrease won't make the slightest bit of difference when we get there - just wait and see.

As for waiting for a British doctor, shop assistant etc you're missing the point. It should never have been allowed to reach this ridiculous position in the first place.

I thought I would mention it as it seems even skilled immigrants get it in the neck ~ as I said in my previous reply, they are damned if they work and damned if they don't.
If the skilled workers are getting jobs at the same rate of pay, why are the jobs available..why aren't British workers employed? there is a bit of truth in the answer that a lot of them are using the immigrants as an excuse not to work, or the immigrants are actually doing a better job of it!

I dont think there is a difference essentially, however I believe that foreign workers tend to have lower expectations of an employer than a brit, in one engineering firm there were women operating machinery who couldnt speak english, doing some very dangerous things, the manager didnt want to pay for safer equipment and he preferred the foreign speaking workers as they (in his words) didnt moan about it

I agree with you The Sherman. I have this argument with many people. Those on here arguing with you just dont make sense. Do they really want only true British people living in this country? And how many generations do they think we need to go back to decide who is a true Brit? Some of them might not be. I think the media is to blame for brain washing those who think this way. Like you say its not based on evidence.
The way i see it is we are an unbelievably privileged country; money, services, benefits etc and all these people want is a better life for themselves and their families.
As a fellow human being to every single person on earth i am happy to share my country with them if they wish to live here. Just like if i decided (and probably will do in the future) to go and live in another country i would hope to be welcomed by them.
Why do people complain so much about this country? When you see how leaders/governments of other countries accross the world treat their people we can see how lucky we really are.
I am proud of the fact we are a multicultural nation and that most of us except everyone no matter where they are from or why they live here.

its not about us wanting a british only population, its about the simple facts that we are too small a country to continue to let in thousands of immigrants every year, we are all feeling the strain now, imagine how bad its going to get every year.
I suppose you dont mind losing the countryside though which in turn will lose all the farming industries, this will also have a devestating affect on wildlife.
why cant we help sort out the problems in these countries so people dont have to be separated from family and have to flee, Im sure a lot of these people would rather stay where they are if it became a peaceful place..
I feel sorry for the cats in the cat home but economically I cant afford to adopt all of them..
