I bought a small (3ft high) lemon tree from a garden centre a couple of weeks ago. It's in my sunny conservatory but is looking a bit sad - the leaves are turning yellow/brown and falling off. I'm giving it a couple of litres of water (until it oozes out of the bottom of the (plastic) pot) and then watering again when the soil feels dry. I've never been very good with plants, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

hi i would recommend placin your plant in a bowl with a couple of inches of water and leave it there for a few hours that way it will drink as much as it needs its sounds like you might be over watering which would rot the roots i would do that approx once a week moving it to another position in ya conservatory may also help it may be in to much sun or in a draft . hope this helps
According to the info my parents got with their lemon tree, you shouldn't over water, let it stand in water or use cold water - room temperature water is best. And it sounds as though it might be getting too much sun - carefully move it to a bright spot but one out of direct sunlight. Hopefully your lemon tree will soon perk up!
