has any one else had problems with this? Debenhams will not ask if you have a nectar card, if you forget they will not add points from your receipt and if you want to check that points have been added you have to go online. Not all staff are trained to check/add points but the system will change in November....rubbish.

I'd noticed that, i recently bought some things in Debenhams, and it was only when I got my nectar statement in that I noticed should have used my card, but the girl in the shop never asked me if I had a card. I would imagine that Nectar have some deal with debenhams, so I would go to Nectar, they would probably be interested if people aren't being asked for their card. On the other hand, i suppose the people who should be benefiting are debenhams as theoretically, more people should be shopping there in order to collect the points. The only way to hurt them is to refuse to shop there, but one person is not likely to make a difference.
I too have noticed this in Debenhams and the times I DO want to use my Nectar card they conveniently tell me the "system" is down and they can't add the points ... hmmmm what's going on Debenhams???
wellllllllllllllllllllllll
i am a manager in Debs, any nectar points awarded are charged to the department, this means concessions bear the cost, as do debs own bought. The onus is on the customer to offer the card.

The good news is, within the next few weeks, debenhams will be able to redeam the points at point of sale simply by swiping your card, and so, for every 500 points you will get 2.50 off your purchase.

also, points can be added by offering the reciept to the checkout, but, Debs can only add points omitted on the day of purchase as their software does not recognise the transaction or adding deffered points after 24 hours, the wzay the points are added is not easy as there are several screens you need to go into and not all sta, especially the weekend staff who only work 4 hours a week, are competently skilled in this, it is always possible to request that points are added by asking politely for a manager to do it, but it has to be done on the day of purchase, which ios a sofrware issue, not just the sales assistant being dim.

How about a little sticker on the till as an aide memoir that it is accepted for points in store? I had this happen after I spent two hundred quid on bed linen then was asked if I had one when I spent a tenner in the kids section.. grrrrrr.

Sorry Dot. I like your responses usually and I know you are going through a tough time, but.... Debenhams should either support nectar or not -I don't feel it's the customer's duty to request an incentive.
