Hello everyone. Can you please tell me how long speeding penalty points stay on your license for? I received 3 points in November 2003 and a further 6 (in one day, tut tut!) in August 2004. Will they be spent now or are they on there for 5 years now and not 3?

points on your licence are valid for 3 yrs only, which means all your points are now clear and you have a clean licence, but they stay on your licence for 4 yrs, which means, the 3 pts from nov 03 can be taken off in nov 07,and the 6 pts removed in aug 08.

Further to noman's correct answer, the insurance companies will continue to take account of them for 5 years ( in most cases).
