My nieces husband has won the Sunday Express crossword prize for a 1000 two years ago after duing it for about twenty years.A friend of mine won the sunday Mail crossword(then for 750) about six months after this

Won the 50 phone-in bonus from the Daily Express Prize Crossword recently !

Incidentally,  a tip for any entrant on these prize crosswords;  make sure when addressing your entry that you leave adequate spacing between the TWO parts of the postcode.  Eg: you don't want B7   4TT  to be considered as B74....  since the Royal Mail's optical reading machines don't have crystal ball technology YET !

No, despite hundreds of entries. Don't know anyone who has....mickthemuppe's answer was a relief; I was beginning to wonder if anyone ever won it.
I've won 100 and 25 from the mail mag (sun) crossword but both were about 3 years ago, Here's hoping this week will be the one!

Nope!

This week's entry went in the post this morning.

My only success I am afraid was in a competition that I entered and I won a Mars Bar Olympic Lapel badge. Don't even know where it is now, mind you it was abouty twenty odd years ago.

No. Enter every week. I had a childish view that they looked at all the correct ones and picked them out from a hat but of course they find the first one and then throw the other envelopes away. I did wonder if they did not even bother to see if the first opened entry was correct or not!

I have won the runners up prizes in the Express and the Mail several times but never the biggie been doing them for 15 years on and off 'You gotta be in it to win it!'
I won the Sunday Express S Magazine's Birthday Quiz in May 2004.  I have still not received the prize of 250, despite sending regular letters and contacting "consumer help" organisations.  Is anyone in the same position?
I too am relieved to see that someone has won the 1000 in the Sunday Express xword.  I have been entering this for more years than I care to remember.  Has anyone won the Mail on Sunday 1500 xword?  I have recently won The Guardian's Sat prize xword but that's all after many years of xwording!
I must be the unluckiest person ever... I've never won anything : (

My wife won a 25 runner up prize over two months ago and we still haven't had the cheque despite writing after the "30 days". This happened to me some years ago on the Skeleton crossword but they did pay up with an apology. It looks like they want you to write in when you see your name and if you don't they keep the dosh. Anyone else agree?

I won the 25 runner up prize in the Sunday Express a few years ago but only received the prize after 6 months and after a few letters!
Billfred, by joining this website have you won some friends? love Melbur

Further to my answer nearly a year ago, just to prove my luck, a relative has died making me executor and left about a third of a million ....... all to charities!! I think someone up there is trying to tell me something.

no we never have and don't know anyone who has. Still we keep trying though.
No, but I did win the Skeleton Crossword on August 18th 1972 with a prize of a record token to the value of 2.50!

Nope, never. However I've started doing it for about a couple of months...so it's too soon to talk.

I did win a stay in a hotel in Spain last year. Paying 195 for up to four people. There was a catch though...they bullied you in going to spend a morning talking about Time Share...
