Some reviews here.

Very mixed reviews, but there are some terrible negative ones.

it is not great, very little by way of facilities, quite a way from the main town, the on site shop for food essentials is very very expensive. i havn;t been though for quite a while tho, the morris dancing (girl troups) go there twice a year for their chanpionships and award ceremonies, the swimming pool used to be dire, i don;t know if they have spent much on it, southport fun fair has closed too by the way, and so there isn;t much to do for kids now in the town,
I may be being unfair on pontins but it hasn;t changed much i am led to believe
Here is a web site called saynotopontins where people put their coments about Pontins, some positive, some negative.

Southport does get a bit of a bashing

I used to live near to Southport but I did go for a visit a couple of years ago with my Answerbook mates and we had a great time. We stayed at the Travel Inn which is nearer to town and just back from the beach. Hotel was fine and there's plenty to do. Shuddr at the thought of Pontins though, it doesn't even look open. Not sure if the machine gun turrets are there to keep people out or in?
all Pontins are rubbish, accomodation is the pits [ so can Butlins be, but may be one step ahead.] Pontins food is quantity but certainly not quality, presume you have kids if not try Warners camps far superior.
You would be better off in a caravan than Pontins [ especially Pakefield ]. sorry to be negetaive what I am trying to say is dont waste your money.
