I have a friend whose husband had dental treatment in Egypt whilst they were living over there (have now moved back to UK) and they really made huge mistakes and basically he is in a lot of pain and had to have several operations since.

She does not think that Egyptian dental technicians are regulated but her husband is self-employed and is obviously unable to work because he is now on anti-depressants following the number of ops he has had to have over here to try to rectify the problem and for the pain he is in.

Is there any way they can seek compensation for this?

As this all took place in Egypt you will need to find an expert in Egyptian law.

If Egyptian law does have provision for suing dentists for compensation, he would probably need medical experts who would be prepared to give evidence in Egypt This is not going to be cheap. Legal aid will certainly not be available, nor will 'no win no fee' solicitors.

I have looked at a few Egyptian dental websites and cannot see any references to a regulator or governing body.

I am at a loss as to what realistically he can do.
