Does anyone know the name of the dance track (and artist) that sampled music from Ennio Morricone's original score to Sergio Leone's film 'Once Upon A Time In The West'? (My previous question got closed for some reason (I didn't do it :( and I really would like to now the answer to this if anyone can help). From what I know of the track it's got a female vocalist and Morricone's original music is given a more modern feel and when I say 'dance' it's kind of going towards a chillout feel - certainly not house.

Hey, cheers for your reply DJ Mark. I guess with a name like that you oughta know the answer to this one. I did manage to get "De Nero" on Kazaa but I could only get a Digweed remix and from that it doesn't sound anything like what I'm after. But sometimes remixes totally butcher the original so that they become a new track in their own right - as you'll know. So I'm trying to get The Disco Evangelists' original cut. Apparently David Holmes made up one half of The Disco Evangelists. And "De Nero" was released in 1993. I've got a feeling the track I want is a bit more recent. Has anyone got anymore suggestions 'cos this is killing me?

Ok - I went for the totally obvious solution of searching for "Once Upon A Time In The West trance" on Google and got some answers :) I'd previously been expecting tracks with other names but some DJs have remixed this classic piece of music and kept the original name. Note the plural of "DJs": so far I've found three DJs who have rehashed the tune with a drum beat over the top and thus far have only managed to get Francis Blaid's version (no, never heard of him, either) but it's definitely not the one I've heard before. So I'm trying to get versions by DJ Gert Vs. Marcel Woods (with endless remix appearances - one of which promises vox which there were in the track I remember) and Mario Pui' who I recognise the name of. If anyone likes cheesy trance I seriously recommend Francis Blaid's version :)

Here's a link to that version (I just found it magically - didn't have to use Kazaa or anything like that and it's actually a properly free track according to the website): ftp://ftp.free-e.hu/free-e/francis_blaid_-_once_up

Hey DJ Mark - I'm not sure what you're saying here [Email adress removed as per site policy - AB Editor]. If you could upload the mp3 somewhere [...] I'd be mega grateful since I really want to hear this track. And I didn't mean to doubt your judgement in answering the question. As I said I think the remix of "De Nero" that I found just made it seem unlikely that it was what I'm after. And there seem to be two users on Kazaa that have the original and they won't share it :(

Ok, I got another version of "De Nero" from WinMX and it's the original mix by the look of it - 8 minutes 42 seconds long. It does use some music by Ennio Morricone but it's taken from "Once Upon A Time In America" which stars Robert De Niro, hence the title of the track. The music it samples is "Cockeye's Theme" (the pipe music from the film played by the young "Cockeye"). So it looks like I'm still looking for this elusive track that sampled "Once Upon A Time In The West". But I WILL find it :) Thanks for your help DJ Mark.

Much much better than any other Kazaa or Limewire or any other Wire.
Kazaa Platinum http://www.kazaa-platinum.com recently came into market. I bought it & I think this was the best choice I ever made.

It gives me specific results for my music & movie downloads, unlike Limewire or any other Kazaa.

It also gives a free anti virus programme , free Ipods/ Mp3 transfer software, free CD burning software free, all in just 29.50 $ one time lifetime fee.

I must say it is a revoultion in music / movies downloads.
