After many years absence I am now able to get back to growing vegetables. I seem to remember that I sowed broad beans at the back end of the year for a crop the following year. However there is no such information on the packet of seeds which are 'optica'.
Am I remembering correctly?

There are some types of Broad Bean which are tough enough to be sown in Oct/Nov for an early crop. Optica is probably a bit tender to stand over winter. Personally, we never bother as the crop is not worth the effort if you live in a cold area.
My husband always starts our broad bean plants off in the unheated green house he sows them in February he plants them out when they are about 10 inches high
