Hi I'm an 18 year old student.I'm a size 14 and 5ft6.I am stuck as I can't find anything to wear for nights out.I will be going to uni in September and need a few outfits for when I go to nightclubs and also a smart casual outfit for for formal dinners. Also what does one wear to a bar or student union? I don't want to look weird.

nothing revealing
how many formal dinners are you expecting to go to at university?

Did I wrongly assume all students sit in dingy bedsits eating pot noodles?
Lol you really really do not know anything about going to uni, do you not have any friends you can ask? Told you you should have gone to the fresher week. Don;t worry, that chubby size 14 will soon reduce when you are living on cider and kit-kats and staying up all night with your fellow freshmen on a binge session.
Weird and individual is a great thing for a student - that's how you're supposed to be.

You're not fat. Jeans (not low rise) and those floaty tops will be perfect for you. :) Big chunky ethnic jewellery.

Monsoon for formal wear - you can't go wrong there.

Do wonderful things with your hair- bright colours. Look confident and you'll confident.

Enjoy yourself.
I know its that nutter russian but nothing revealing, this is a 5ft9 model and a size 18!! She looks fab!

I'm the same height and size as you.

I tend to wear jeans/legginn and floaty pretty tops a lot for just going to the pub. If it's hot I wear long dresses or quite short skirts (I'm told I have good legs). If you wear a short skirt though then you should cover up a bit more on to (t shirt or not too revealing vest) as too much flesh exposed looks cheap to my way of thinking.

I don't go clubbing so much these days but when I do I have a couple of bustiers which look good with jeans/trousers, a couple of strapless dresses which all seem appropriate. Or halter neck tops and jeans.

I also have a bit of a shoe obsession (3 pairs for 9 today, bargain!) so I usually have quite funky shoes on too.

Just try some stuff on and mix and match til you have your own style and don't worry about what everyone else is wearing.
When I was at university I wore whatever clothes I felt comfortable in. You should do the same!! Wear what looks and feels lovely to you. Don't try and look like anyone else. Why not go to Top Shop in Oxford Street and buy a load of great new stuff. I'll come too!! Monsoon is great for classy stuff. Most girls in clubs tend to look like they have bought their clothes off market stalls, so I really wouldn't copy that. In a club you will be hot and dancing, so wear something glam and slinky- but be COMFORTABLE. People do tend to judge on appearances at Uni so I would try and be as individual as possible. Avoid jeans and blue jumper unless you are going on a field trip... Ethnic is always good- and you will get more respect if you dress like that from the start rather than one of these lame students who become a goth half way through the term. Be yourself.

I would have a look on some fashion shop websites to get a few ideas of what the current fashion is. Try...www.warehouse.co.uk or www.riverisland.co.uk. The River Island website also shows how to put outfits together and shows different styles for different occassions. This should be enough to get you started x
Nothing tarty, but something you feel comfortable wearing. You're going to uni, not a fashion parade after all. You'll find that most people aren't really too bothered about what they or anyone else is wearing.
Pink bra, knockers pouring out, you know the look ,you post it often enough.

God ,I am sick of the bloody rusky.
