Please help me someone! I have just received sky broadband and installed it on to my Acer laptop. It came with one year free McAfee security. I already had F-Secure on my computer but wanted McAfee, so attempted to uninstall F-Secure. I have windows vista, went to programs and selected uninstall program. It no longer shows as a program in the list here, but it does have a folder in Program files. I cannot delete the folder, it says I am not authorised to do so. It won't let me install McAfee until I have completely removed F-Secure, but I cannot seem to do this. I cannot re-install F-Secure as when I put the cd in it says I do not have the system requirements. So at the moment I don't have any internet security and can't seem to find a way around this. Please can someone help me!!

Firstly ... it sounds as if you are signed on as a user ....
normally you get a warning (UAC) but allowing you to override

the first user ID you setup is admin ... all subsequent are user ...

how many accounts do you have?

second problem is ... in vista the administrator is disabled ... so before you can use it - you need to enable the account (which can only be done by an administrator)

but you should be able to do this with an ordinary Admin account...
oh ... and check that the versions you are using work with Vista!!
Only f-secure 2007 is compatible with Vista!
so earlier versions will cause problems (even uninstalling!)
