I was at a zoo yesterday and read on an information board next to the chimpanzee enclosure that they share many similar emotions and expressions as humans. I'm ok with that, but it went on to say that they can express awe?!

What on earth impress a chimpanzee that makes them go WOW!

Jane Goodall, world famous prmatologist, recorded that a Chimp expressed awe first in 1970 in Gombe when the chimps spontaneously danced at the sight of a waterfall. Jane believes that expression of awe in chimps resembles the emotions that led early humans to religion.
