My son & 3 of his fellow students have took on 2yr unfurnished let, they intend to buy the basics (beds, washer, TV etc) from a place that offers weekly payments. Apparently this place is on the high street and also has a web site ................ Does anyone know of this place? I would like to check out their prices etc before they agree to HP. Many thanks, Phil.

i think you might mean brighthouse altho there hp is a bit on the high side they are quite handy for people who find it hard to obtain credit www.brighthouse.com
sorry wrong link above try www.brighthouse.info x
Bright House I believe. They don't require credit checks either
Don't even go there! Surely someone, family, friends or even Freecycle websites second hand gear are better than going further into debt than Student Loans will take them? Please, think first, credit is the easiest and most difficult road to go down, especially for Students starting out.
why don't you got to a furniture package company? they specialise in that king of thing and some even offer interest free credit (i used to run one). Go to www.landlordzone.co.uk and click on the 'furniture and furnishings' classification to the right hand side and just sift through xx
It's about 30% apr at Brighthouse!! Try registering with http://www.freecycle.org or go to second hand furniture shops.
theres one called freetocollect.co.uk
