make batter coat the fish and fry. eat with chips of course. better than any chippie. yumyum
Make them in to fish cakes or fish pie .
i usually make mackerel pate, buy some nice bread and sit and pig out. or grill them and have them with a squeeze of lemon and a salad

I have a regular meal of mackerel, with ratatouille, a whole lemon sliced, plain pasta, and loads of very hot chilli sauce. Mackerel is very oily (good oily) and can become over-rich and sickly. The lemon and chilli help to offset this with plenty of bite as well.

Thanks guys, some great ideas there. Whiffey particularly like your idea. I have a jar of chilli sauce in my fridge actually that also needs using, think i will try that tonight. Yum scrum. Can't wait for tea. Maybe i'll make fish cakes tomorrow, then pate on Wednesday for a starter, then i could fry whatever is left.. Though by then i might be sick of it. Thanks again!
Kedgeree!!! It's perfect with smoked haddock or mackerel.

Add fresh chillies if you like it hot!

Or alternatively shred the mackerel and mix with chopped onion and loads of fresh lemon juice. Serve in warmed pitta breads and top with freshly chopped lettuce and tomatoes. It's a very refreshing and easy tea.
fish pie
Make a great sandwich - brown bread and use horseradish sauce instead of butter/marg. and flake the mackeral flesh off the skin. Wash down with tea.
