Basic recipe is....

2 parts tomatoe ketchup
1 part golden syrup
1 part light soy sauce
1 part light brown sugar

Mix together and marinade.

I also add a clove of garlic, some ginger and a dash of lime juice. You could also add chilli if you wanted it spicier.

Try it....it's gorgeous !!!

That sounds lovely - have all those ingredients so will use your recipe tomorrow.

Many thanks!
This one is a southern U.S. favorite...
1 cup yellow mustard
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup apricot preserves
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper (fresh ground is best)
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (we use Tobasco)
1/2 teaspoon salt
PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together in a large saucepan. Allow mixture to simmer for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before brushing generously on meat. It can also be served at the table to add to chicken if you like extra sauce...
Sally - for something different and delicious you might want to try this:

Big Bob Gibson's Alabama White Barbeque Sauce

If you've ever been to Northern Alabama, you've been to Big Bob Gibson's. Their award winning barbeque dishes are a must-have for visitors and natives alike. Even Oprah Winfrey had this and loved it.

2 quarts
10 minutes 10 mins prep

1 quart mayonnaise
3/4 quart apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
salt
fresh ground black pepper

Place all ingredients in a very large blender or food processor.
(It may be necessary to do this in 2 batches; just add 1/2 of each ingredient and then repeat.) Blend for 1 minute, or until thoroughly combined and mixture is smooth.
Pour sauce into a large bowl.

Use when grilling chicken; brush lightly over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling.

This sauce is also great for dipping; set some sauce aside for passing at the table.

Pour over those chickens you buy roasted at the grocery for a real easy treat.

Am there with you hamerman - am doing tandoori - one of my faves!
Nice one Sally....i did it the other night but with diced chicken breast on a skewer....barbequed and it was lovely. It's also one of those simple recipes that you can change the ingredients to suit your taste.....you could add some chopped fresh corriander, maybe some very finely chopped dried apricots, pineapple or sultanas.

Let us know how it goes

By the way....i can't take all the credit i'm afraid, BBWCHATT posted this superb link....what a fantastic site
