I have an oldish iron thats given up the ghost, basically just a metal plate, i want to replace it, and all i can find are steam irons - does anywhere do normal irons, or are they all steam irons these days? if just steam irons, can they be used as a normal iron, ie, without having to put water in?
thanks

You can still buy the good old old Morphy Richards dry iron here

Buy a steam iron - they are fantastic. If you find you don't like the steam function just turn the dial round to no steam and don't put water in. I would say though as someone who has used a dry iron I wouldn't now be without my steam iron!
I would actually buy a steam generator instead of an iron. I run an ironing business and have done for over 10 years now. For the same price of a good iron, you can get a generator from anywhere such as Argos, Currys etc. Once you use a generator, you would never ever go back to an iron, not even a steam iron. All the girls that work for me, would tell you exactly the same.....excellent ironing, half the time!! What could be better? Hope this helps.
