In the 1800's United States laws made by men, forbade women from owning property or entering into legal agreements in their own name, so the inventions would be in the name of her father or husband (typical males taking all the credit). But the fairer sex did invent the Dishwasher,Ironing board,Refridgerator ,Disposable nappies, not things males would ever think about apart from chilling the beer in the fridge. There were also windshield wipers, car heaters, crash helmets, bulletproof vests, fire escape and circular saw just thought I would throw a few things in for the boys!!

Hmmm, i have scoured the internet and have only found that gossiping was invented by women...
In 1913, the first modern brassiere to be awarded a patented was invented by a New York socialite named Mary Phelps Jacob. Mary had just purchased a sheer evening gown for one of her social events. At that time, the accepted undergarments were corsets, stiffened with whaleback bones and steel rods. Mary found that the whalebones poked out visibly around the plunging neckline and under the sheer fabric, so with two silk hankerchiefs and some pink ribbon, the first bra was invented.

Otto T!tzling invented the bra. It's a fact.

it was actually believed that women did not have the mental capacity to think!

with the same encouragement as men had, women would now have a great long history of inventions behind them.

Think of all the potentially great things we may have missed out on because the idea was sneered out of the pretty little things head while she made the tea and pressed flowers...?

the comedy sketches of 1950s women, by harry enfield are funny because even that recently, this was the general feeling towards women who had a mind.
