Cost of respraying?

I am about to buy a land rover defender 110 but I will want to get it resprayed. There is nothing wrong with the paintwork, in fact its a reasonably new paint job.
Does anyone have any idea how much roughly it might cost me?

to have it done properly would cost in the region of �1800/2000, depending on colour,what sort of paint,etc.but there are cheaper places that would do it for around the 1200 range,if your not that fussy.

It is also worth pointing out that a respray will invariably lower the resale value of the car. As the paint's fine I assume you just don't like the colour. It's better to find one in the colour you do like rather than getting a respray.

Someone here managed to get a quote for �1500 but I don't know what sort of job he got.

Thanks a lot for your replies. I didn't know that it would lower the resale value! They don't do them in the colour I want and have only ever seen one which I assume was resprayed.
Guess it requires more thinking about...maybe I can live with blue : )

It lowers the value because if it's been painted there is an in built assumption that it's been in a crash. No one will believe otherwise.
