I am moving to Portugal for 1 year. Does anyone know what the costs and regulations will be to export my car to Portugal, or should I sell my car in the UK and buy a similar out there. Assuming I will drive the car to Portugal myself.

As Portugal is a member of the EU you are entitled to drive your car for 12 months without having to register the car, provided the car is UK legal - it must be taxed, insured and have a current MOT if over 3 years old.

So the only cost to you would be the fuel and ferry costs.

You must also have a red warning triangle in the vehicle at all times.
