Widescreen Monitors

Are any of you lovely people owners of a widescreen monitor?

How do they deal with games that will only run in a 4:3 resolution? Or how about 4:3 video? Does the image get stretched to fit or do you get vertical bars at either side?

Does it depend entirely on the monitor? Or the monitor drivers?

Any answers greatly appreciated.

I have a widescreen monitor, and any 4:3 video at fullscreen has vertical black bars down the sides.

Excellent.

What about old games that don't do widescreen?
Depends on the screen (and the game)
with some you just get a border on either side

my screen (mirai) was cheap ... but has a resize option which fits the pikkie.
however the characrers look to have put on weight!

Well I'm considering splashing out and treating myself to the BenQ FP241WZ. But I really really really want to see it first.
