redundancy - prez idea

Hi guys,

My closest friend and others have been made redundant from my work and i basically want to get my friend a little prez for when she leaves. However, i am not so sure what to get - something nice but obviously due to the nature of why she is leaving its hard to know what's the right thing to get. Really appreciate some ideas - thanks.

What shall I buy?

Hmmm.... it's difficult. My mum was made redundant a few years back and it can REALLY tear some people apart. People can become bitter towards those colleagues that haven't been made redundent too.

Perhaps just a nice card with some kind words (not too sympathetic!! but just how she's a really good friend and you'd always want to stay in touch...?)

As for a present... perhaps just a box of chocolates and a bottle of her fave wine?

Thanks Nat and yes that is the problem. We are really good work friends but since she got the news (understandably) she has kept herself to herself and i know she is really hurt.

I just wanted to get her something so she knows i care.
