My mate stepped in tar and now I've got 7 2p piece sized stains on my beige carpet. I've searched for solutions and people have recommended WD40, eucalyptus oil, alcohol, baby wipes, baby oil etc. Anyone had this problem, and what did you use? Carpet is not full on deep pile but fairly thick. TIA

From now on I suggest you make it a firm rule of "Outdoor Shoes Off Please" when you have visitors. I did after one of mine bought in some dog poo on the sole of their shoes.
I have been told that toothpaste removes tar on carpets.
No idea if it works but it is worth a try.
