How do you rate it as a Summer holiday destination? What are the pluses and minuses?

This is where the top stars, various footballers and whatever get together for parties on yachts and house parties so you might glimpse one or two during your stay however it's all very expensive, have to queue for a meal and the beaches are private. Quite honestly, go somewhere where YOU can have a break and a holiday. Mind you, St Tropez in autumn time (late September) is great; the stars have left with the papparazi and you can appreciate the town for what it is.
It's very very overrated and a bit of a bug bear to get to other places on the Riviera from - You would be much better being up the other end towards Monaco/Nice area. There is a small "little Venice" called Port Grimaud near to St Tropez which is OK for a day trip nearby but that's about it. If you wanted to get to Nice/Monaco - you're talking over an hour as it's a trek up the hill to the motorway and a two hour drive along the coast road.

We have an apartment in Theoule Nr Cannes and find this to be in the middle of where we want to be - it's quite and only 15 mins form the hustle and bustle of Cannes.

Have a look at this part of my wesbite and it gives you things to do and days out on the Cote D'azur - mostly they are all up the other end.

Have a great time wherever you go - it really is a fantastic place.
