I know that vehicle speed is calculated by the time taken to travel a distance. - Common science and the method used by Speed Camera Vans, according to the Internet!
My question therefore is: Is there a minimum distance required by a speed camera van against which to perform this calculation?

no,this has allready been answered in your previous question, there is no minimun or maximum distance,if the digital camera gives a reading of speeding, then you are speeding, whether its for 400 yds or 1 yard, whether you get done is a different matter
Hello, u r naughty if u were speeding but there is a leniency of about 10% (dont know about on a 70mph road as that would allow 7mph more) so unless u were going massively over the limit there is a chance u will get a lesser 'punishment' if at all. Sorry if this isn't relevant :D
Some forces set a "No Tolerance" on the cameras so if your even 2 or 3 mph over the speed limit your done. Speed limits are a maximum not a target!
if you were seen by a speed camera van, then it will operate using a lazer, which does not need you to travel much of a distance at all, as it will tell the operator if you are speeding within a second, in which time you might have only traveled 50cm.
