Sorry to sound dim, I got the first bit ok, how do I set up two columns?
Sorry, I should have said how to.
It depends on whether you're using Office 2003/XP or office 2007.
For 2003/XP: To set up two columns, select Format (on the menu bar) >Columns and select two columns. You may have to click the arrows at the bottom of the drop down menu to get the columns option to appear.
For 2007, click on Page Layout at the top of the screen and there are options for orientation and number of columns

I think im using office 2003, Im almost there, I have the two columns, I just cant get the cursor to move to the right hand column. How do I number the pages?
Thanks for taking all this trouble.
To get to the righthand column you will have to run your cursor ( just keep pressing entre) all the way down the lefthand column first. You won't be able to just click into the righthand side. As for numbering, I don't think you can insert numbers into the columns. It will just number a single page. You will probably be better numbering them yourself. If your booklet has several pages the page numbers wouldn't be consecutive anyway.
Another option!
Select File >Page Setup >Portrait.
Then without coming out of Page Setup, select the Paper tab and select A5 paper size. You may wish to adjust the margins as well, otherwise you get a lot of space and very little writing.
Click ok.
Select Insert >Page numbers. Put them where you want them.
When you have finished typing, select File >Print >Manual Duplex and also select 2 pages per sheet at the bottom right of the window.
It will now print 2 pages of A5 on one sheet of A4, starting with a sheet which is on the right hand side and subject to your printer's capabilites, allow you to print one side then turn it over and print the other etc. You may have to mess about with the order that you print the pages in order to collate them, but you can specify which pages to print, e.g. 1 and 8, 2 and 7, 3 and 6, 4 and 5.
