It's water based and the dye is contained in the water and is activated by water - as the water drys (evaporates) and the paint stays - the underlying colour of white remains.

But surely the dye does not evaporate, only the water does!!

The Dulux Faeries slip in as you sleep........they thrive on pink pigment and eat it all up! Or it could be Global Warming, you wold have to ask Al Gore, of America, on that possibility.
