since becoming single i've been putting a lot of spade work into my career, but have noticed as my qualifications and earnings have increased, the attention from the blokes has decreased. i think my looks have improved as i can afford better clothes, cosmetics etc. and i dont think i'm any less feminine as im not the high powered exec type. please will someone tell me are men intimidated by high achievers? and if so, how can we go about fixing this?

Traditionally blokes are the bread winners and women stay at home and look after the kids.

Maybe some blokes see successful women as a threat to their roles in life and further proof of the emasculation of men.

Maybe some subconsiously think being career minded as a more masculine attribute and not particularly feminine.

I dunno.

thanks llamatron. its nice to get a another viewpoint - dont know if you are male or female tho! i would have thought that tradition diminished a while back. women take up a large part of the workforce so its hard to imagine that in this day and age, subconsciously or not, women are still anticipated to contribute a low key role if they want to maintain their femininity.

thanks viali, you sound perfect! have you tried internet dating? lol
