Is it possible to get ripped off now MOTs are computerised? I'm imagining they plug your car in to a computer, & if it prints out a report of what's working & what's not.

My nearest MOT centre is Kwik Fit, but all my friends are like "oh no, they're a big company & you're a little girly person, they'll rip you off..."

mot stations use a computer to access the cars polution levels etc but most checks are manual safety checks.the thing about mot's being computerised is that it is now on a database,so, if a police officer was to check your registration they would know if you are using the car without mot or tax.
ps i wouldn't use kwik fit to put air in my tyre!!
With computorized MOT's car drivers are less likely to get "ripped off" as the DVLA computers moniter pass or fail readouts from garages and they will show up a garage that is "ripping off" drivers by having to many failures on easily replaced but expensive items.
Avoid Kwik Fitup like the plague, remember the 'your dampers need replacing' scam. Use a MOT test centre that dos'ent do repairs.
