he is 8 months old now, and very much like a toddler. he wakes me up when he wants feeding, he is very vocal. its like he is telling me off about something!! constantly meowing. he follows me into every room, even the bath room. if i close the door for some privacy he throws a tantrum, scratching the door and tearing wall paper off the wall, not to mention the crying. if i leave the duvet on my bed he decides to wee on it!! so i have to take it off every morning so he doesnt get a chance. he doesnt wee any where else in my flat so i dont really understand why he chooses to do it on my bed. he really is driving me up the wall. i thought it was cute at first, but its way past that. i really dont no what to do with him. i really dont want to get rid of him as although there are these problems he really is a lovely cat, he is very affectionate, and playful. im wondering if maybe he is feeling insecure or bored. i really dont no.

hi prettywoman, yes sounds like he is treating you as his mum. my puss follows me from room to room too and doesn't like closed doors - she likes the run of the house which is ok as it's practicle for me to leave doors open etc. my auntie's kitten (9 months) actually jumps onto her knee every time she's on the loo! re the crying for food - i'd ignore that and establish a few reguar feeding times a day and he should settle into that. my cat wakes me if i ever have the luxury to lie in after 9. and the peeing on your bed could be that he's marking his territory - just keep your bedroom door closed. maybe he really is feeling insecure - give him lots of tlc and he should settle. there are a few similar postings on here in the pet category to see what other people have to advise. good luck and bear with him x
Not much to add to that! Give yourself a gold star iheartruby.....lol. My 6 month old Ragdoll cries for food all the time....like he's never been fed EVER, we just ignore the fat little git :o]

He really must love you to treat you like mummy. I have the problem that you have - never getting to go to the loo alone.

Remember - human toddlers are hell to live with, why shouldn't feline ones be too.
Hi Prettywoman,

It sounds as though he is lonely for other feline company to me. Have you thought of getting him a companion?
I would try getting him a friend - kittens love company and sometimes another kitten helps(sounds like hell but 2 are often easier than 1). He does sound very insecure but you do need to establish a routine just as for a toddler. Good luck and don't give up!

hey, thanks to everyone for your suggestions. im grateful for your advice. considering getting a companion for my kitten however im worried that if i do, then i will have two destructive kittens on my hands lol. deffo something to think about tho.
HI Prettywoman,

My kitten behaves exactly the same, never leaves me alone for a moment, screams the place down if i leave him alone, (he is 11 months now) but I love him to bits, he is the crown jewels to me, he also began to pee on my bed, and I got him neutered and that stopped it. Just a suggestion, is it time he had his danglies off? He loves you so much hence the attention he is giving/wanting from you, my cat also jumps into my lap when Im sat on the loo ! He loves human company and loves a good cuddle and a kiss!
Bless.....
Enjoy him while you can, he sounds wondeful!
RQ xx
