installed windows xp

Hi all ive been on my pc for 6 hrs downloading windows xp off of my disc as i had a mega crash on my pc, i have 2 problems and need some help please.
my keyboard has gone weird i think it has set up in usa mode as my @ button is now my " button and vice versa if you know what i mean, how do i change it to the british version.
2nd problem is everytime i turn something off i get a bleep sound its driving me crazy any help on both these problems would be grateful. thx all for any help

Keyboard language

Start - control panel - date, time and language - regional and language options

In Regional Options, select UK , and in location - select uk.

Click Apply and OK.


When exactly is your pc beeping? What sort of beep?

hard to explain whenever i go to a new page or turn a page off i get a beep noise like a warning sound i suppose you could say

Go to control panel >click on sound speech & audio devices >sound & audio devices > sounds. There you can apply different sounds to various actions your pc does or turn the sounds off to the ones you dont want . You can also make up numerous different sound scheemes & save them.
