A friend has a French Fries Party every year, and now I am looking for something else for our housewarming party.
Was thinking about a burger party, but maybe there's something more exciting you can come up with...

a southern foods party .
BWACHATT {sp} may be able to help you out with loads of receipes and shes from TN .
South makes the best kind of american food .
70's... kitsch garish retro food.
I love Mexican parties :-) you could give a prize for who wears the best hat lol.....

@blyss: It does not have to be American Food.
I was thinking Burgers, since it's easy and you can make them all night long, while people arrive/are hungry.

If I do 'proper' food, people will have to eat when it's ready.

A flan party has been suggested also.
Burgers still sounds easier....
Bohne, I think you should enjoy your party, not be cooking burgers all evening lol.....unless of course that is how you enjoy your parties :-)

I prefer people to bring a different dish each.... pot luck!!! and we get to try all the different dishes then.....
Sure - as Blyss said I will be happy to help you with a Southern Foods Party if you would like me to - anytime - just let me know.

A lot less work and a lot more party would be a "chili cheese dog" party like this:

Just leave me a post if I can help in any way.

Some friends and I used to have an 'all sausage day' party once a year. You can have all kinds of different sausages, check out your local butcher, hot dogs, scotch egg, sausage casserole etc etc.
Question Author
Yes, somebody suggested a hot dog party.
Sausage Party sounds good, too.

Or how about cheese party?
Question Author
Southern Food sounds good, I might ask you for recipes one of these days, but for this party I'd like a
One-Word-Food, if you know what I mean.

Somebody suggested a RED party, however, my colour is so much BLUE, that that would not reflect my personality, and a BLUE party is too much like Halloween, I think!
How about a wrap party - a stack of flour tortillas - a variety of spreads of all kinds and sliced meats and cheeses, pickles, tomatoes, onions, etc.. Everyone can make their own combination.
fondue.
chocolate fountain. Hire a large one and they will supply fruit, sweeties and lots more to dip. You then only need buffett food that you can prepare well in advance sandwitches, sausage rolls ect
Question Author
chocolate fountain...

Thanks for your input, but just thinking about it makes me feel sick...
