I've just done mine kath, after spotting advice on here. Now we're in for freezing weather - so fingers crossed!
I've done a couple of mine but was advised to wait a bit longer in case frost destroying the new growth,

weather outside today.

you should not prune the dead flowers until after the last frosts as the last seasons dead blooms protect the new shoots from fost damage
