Mates condom ad in 100 best ever TV commercials?
The ad in 47th place in the greatest ever TV commercials programme is a Mates condom ad from 1987 called the Chemist Shop. It features a young man trying to pluck up the courage to ask the attractive lady assistant for a packet of condoms.
Who is the actress playing the assistant? She is a very familiar face and went on to become quite well known but she is very young in the ad with short hair and a Geordie accent (actually that may be her normal voice).
