I am looking into buying a new bath and wondered which is better; A steel bath or a lightweight injection molded bath? Also, I've heard that Acrylic baths are more likely to crack - is this true?

Well acrylic is certainly more likely to crack than steel but that doesnt mean that it will. Nothing to choose between them really
Depends on quality. Nothing beats cast iron. Basically you get what you pay for. Acrylic will offer a greater choice of styles. If you are having a shower fitted over the bath strength is important. It is possible to brace below the bath to give extra support.
