Is Kirsty Wark of BBC Newsnight the sister of John Wark the star of The Great Escape To Victory?

I think you'll find Kirsty Wark is actually the daughter of Hollywood actor John Voight - although i believe they dont speak. She does have a brother and his name is John although his married name is Aldridge and made his name as a moustachioed footballer in the 1980's. John Aldridge served as a consultant on The Great Escape From Alcatraz starring Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage so thats probably where the confusion arose.
Of course Walk is Kirsty's married name- her maiden name was Young. Her change of name when she married made transfering from Channel 5 to BBC2 all that easier.
Sadly the John Walk of which you speak, after winning the nations hearts as Inspector Morse, died recently. His widow Sheila Hancock has just written a book about her life with John and her troubled first marriage to jazz legend Herbie.

Gary, was Nicholas Cage the one who stole the motorcycle from the Germans, but found out he was on an island and had to give himself up.
Sean Connery only had a small part as Angus the jockey who eventually cracked up and was shot trying to escape in a wooden horse.
I think Private Ryan was the only one to escape, having built his own Spitfire in the loft of stalag 17 and launching himself to freedom with the help of some very strong elastic.

I think you'll find Nicholas Cage is the skinny Australian lead singer of pop combo The Bad Seeds. I do remember seeing him ride a motorcycle in one of their early videos. Its the one where he is a cartoon and he pulls the young gal through the mirror into his cartoon world.
You are of course correct about Sean Connery but it is a little known fact that the wooden horse was actually played by Roger Moore who, as everyone knows, went on to repalce Sean Connery in the Indiana Jones movies.

I'm actually working on a script with Alan Bennett. Its an updated version of Brush Strokes (catch the original show now Paramount Comedy Channel 2) where Jacko (still played by the hilarious Karl Howman) is now a private detective who does painting and decorating in his spare time.
We hope to get Lynda Baron on board as the main love interest with Noele Gordan as Jacko's sexy secretary competing for his attentions.
Alan's doing the script but Stephen Berkoff has been a dear and will do the screen play for us. We are still in negotiations to get Jesse Birdsall involved but once he finds out we have got Lewis Collins signed up as Jacko's bumbling accident prone boss i'm sure we'll nab him.

I thought she had become a rich recluse after selling off her chain of hotels. Having spoken to my friend Sir Cameron McCanny the theatre impressionist he feels he could turn this into a hit musical, guaranteeing full houses all over the West End. He was wondering if you could find a small part for his fellow Scottish patriot Wallace Gibson, who is out of favour with Hollywood at the moment, due to his conversion to Islam.That Paramount comedy channel you mentioned, I tried half the night trying to tune in, but to no avail.
