how dare the people say that it is a police state after their release from questioning about the possible kidnap and murder of a british muslim soldier.the police were doing their job and if their religion has put them under scrutiny then thats their fault.they must have been plotting something or else they wouldnt have been arrested.they shoild stop whingeing and accept that they were under suspicion.

Over the years there have been countless cases where innocent people have been not only arrested but convicted and imprisoned and susequently found to be completely innocent.

stokeace, when you are a big boy, you might be lucky enough to learn how to drive and, perhaps, even own a car.
Now imagine that you were pulled over by the police and held for seven days on suspicion that you had sent letter bombs to various addresses.
You are then released without charge, since, in that time they have found no evidence that you are linked to the letter-bomb plot, other than the fact you are a motorist.
How would you feel then?
Perhaps you could make this a "story-time" project with your school teacher. Remember, always use round-edged scissors and ask a grown-up for help with the difficult bits.
