A deck of cards always comes with 52 cards with 4 joker cards I noticed. I've always wondered. What are the jokers for? TO replace missing cards? :p

I was always under the impression to keep the deck clean. one on top one on bottom?

They can be used as "wild cards" and have specific purposes in some obscure games.

And they are also very useful for replacing missing cards, as you suggested.
