Bad Idea, no discussion necessary!
Why not a female president ? at least her brain would be in the right place - if nothing else !
Question Author
Why a bad idea?
Surely she can't be any worse then Bush?
I don't see why not, though I suspect Americans will just freak out at the idea of a female president. She has experience of administration and legislation. She also has a high public profile, though this isn't always an advantage. Americans in recent years (since Nixon quit) have mostly voted for presidents who make them feel good, and I'm not certain Hillary does this. She'd certainly be better than Bush, but her actual opponent is more likely to be someone like John McCain.
good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, goood idea, you get the gist.
Good idea.

It will be interesting though, to see how Middle America take it...whether her policies or her sex will be the bigger stumbling block.
I doubt she'll get the nomination. The US is not ready to accept a woman yet and the Democrats won't risk nominating a woman, they are desparate to win next time and they won't take the chance.
Fantastic idea.

So that's it then.
The reason Hilary Clinton would make a bad President is because she's a woman?
That's cr@p.
So where did that leap of logic come from then? There are several reasons why she'd be a bad president but none of them are because she's a woman. I was merely pointing out that she is unlikely to get the nomination because she's a woman. You really should try to digest the meaning before becomming hysterical.
Question Author
Did that really sound like I was hysterical?
I think our ideas of what 'hysterical' means must differ.

Apart from jno nobody seems to have said why she'd be good or bad.
Great idea, I think when she does become president, and I can't wait for the day(if Bush can, Anyone can. Plus Hilary has a brain and a degree), American politics will change for the better and the country's image will improve drastically.
No more wars, that's for sure.
"Surely she can't be any worse than Bush?"

Llmatron hittin' that nail pretty squarely...
If anybody's read Bill Clinton's biography, they'd know the intelligence of Hilary Clinton. She was in fact the brain behind her husband's presidency which in many people's eyes was one of the best presidents in the US. She also had the brains and intelligence not to let the scandal about her husband and Lewinski's affair get to her. I think the US will benefit from having some brains as president for once!!!
I like the idea. In fact it would be an interesting election if Condoleeza Rice is the Republican candidate. However,as much as I am in favour of seeing a President Hillary Rodham Clinton (I think eight years of a Bush administration would put me off the idea of a President Rice) I still believe she would benefit in fronting her campaign as a person, rather than focus on being the USA's first female President. Likewise in this country,I totally diagree with Blair and Cameron getting candidates because of their gender, religion, ethnic backgrounds,or sexuality - the person should come first, the four criterias listed shouldn't come into it.

I think it would be good for America, because she is intelligent, clever, and was the brains behind Bill Clintons political career, i think that she would change the way America sees the rest of the world, although i doubt if it will ever happen.

I think it's a good idea for pretty much the pro-reasons given above.

Loosehead, why do you think it's such a bad idea? I think you might be right though in that she might not be nominated.
